With 6,300 stores in 40 states and Washington, DC, CVS/pharmacy, the retail division of CVS Caremark, is America's largest retail pharmacy. CVS acquired 1,268 Eckerd stores as well as 700 Albertsons-owned drugstores in recent years, but transitioning those stores to the CVS brand is no small task. As soon as an acquisition is made, CVS takes quick action to reset, remodel and reopen stores for customers.
